Rafa Nasiri Award - Final Results – 8th edition, 2022
Rafa Nasiri Studio, Amman is honored to announce the final results of the 8th Annual Award for Graphic Arts-2022.
The respected members of the Jury:
Dia Azzawi, painter - printmaker,
Ziad Dallol, painter - Printmaker,
Modhir Ahmad, Painter -printmaker,
reached the decision to nominate the winner: Ali Yass from Iraq.
The 2022 nominated winner has been selected by the Jury out of a number of participants from Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, who thankfully submitted the applications received until 31st December 2022.
The decision of the Jury members was based on the fact that the artist's works are represented in in an innovated spirit with simplified visual forms. In his monotype prints, he reduces the selected scenes to few elements, sometimes to a single one, for rendering, in shape and color, symbolic images of utmost sensitivity, preserving at the same time the spontaneity of the initial touch.
Ali Yass, student, painter, filmmaker and marathon runner, born in Baghdad 1992, lives and works between Potsdam and Berlin Germany. Holds a BA in visual Arts, Jordan university, Amman (2015), in present, he is studying fine arts in the Lensbased Class, at the Universität der Kunste Berlin (UDK).
The Jury members would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to all the artists who submitted to the 8th edition of the Award, and extend a special congrats to the winner. Nasiri Studio has the pleasure to celebrate the ongoing Annual Award for Graphic Arts, with much appreciation and gratitude to the esteemed Jury members for their support.

About the Award
Established in honor of the late Rafa Nasiri, artist, printmaker, graphic designer and teacher, The Rafa Nasiri Award for Graphic Arts competition defines young Arab artists (age 20-40), with exceptional talent in graphic arts and showcase their work to a wider audience. Founded in 2014, the Award’s program initiative is to foster their creativity and talent through recognition and scholarships.
